What happens after I submit a dispute?
Once we receive your request, AccuData Holdings LLC. will review the materials you’ve provided and formally open a reinvestigation.
Both you and the party that requested the background check will be notified that the dispute is underway. Along with that notice, you’ll receive a copy of the original report, a Summary of Your Rights under the FCRA, and information on Remedying the Effects of Identity Theft.
Our disputes team will then investigate the items in question and determine whether the original information was accurate or whether the report needs to be corrected.
When the process wraps up, you and the requesting party will receive a written explanation of the outcome along with a copy of the finalized report.
How long does the process take?
Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S. Code § 1681), all disputes must be resolved within 30 days.
(This window may be extended by up to 15 additional days if new information is submitted after the reinvestigation has already been opened.)
That said, AccuData Holdings LLC. always works to resolve disputes as quickly as possible.
